Lakme Beauty Salon in Delhi

What you see - The huge display board on the main road of Model Town in Delhi lets you know where Lakme Beauty Salon is. You need to get through the narrow service lane to get here. Climb up a few steps and you arrive at the frosted door of the salon.

The interiors of the women’s salon are done up in the theme colors of beige and maroon. The waiting area has a three-seater sofa and a magazine rack to keep you entertained while you wait.

What you get – Lakme Salon offers a number of beauty treatments for skin care and hair care. We chose to go for a hair wash (Rs. 225) and blow-dry (Rs. 275). Since it was a weekend we had to wait for about 45 minutes. We made use of the time to get threading done (around Rs. 60 for eyebrows and upper lips).

The staff here is experienced and efficient. We liked the threading service which was followed by a gentle massage in order to soothe the muscles and to take care of the redness. The hair wash and blow dry services were also satisfactory and relaxing and took about 30 minutes.

Lakme Salon is also popular for its hair spa treatments (Rs. 800), pedicures and manicures. Other services available here include body polishing, facial, waxing, clean-up etc. The staff uses Lakme and Schwarzkopf products for most of the treatments like hair coloring, hair bonding etc.

The salon keeps very busy during the weekends so it’s best to book an appointment before you visit them. In case you need to get a treatment done before or after the salon timings, then you need to pay an extra charge of Rs. 250 here. The salon also takes up pre-bridal and bridal packages.

Our verdict - Lakme Salon offers good services and has trained staff. However, they need to improve upon the ambience and the lighting which make the parlor look dull. The parlor also deals in children’s haircuts. The staff is friendly, the prices are competitive and the services are of good quality. Parking can be a problem here as there is no defined parking space. Lakme has other branches in Delhi too.
